About The Course

This course form a complete introduction to direct digital control (DDC) of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. It covers the main control schemes used in building Automation systems (BAS). This includes single-zone and multi-zone control, constant air volume (CAV) systems, and variable air volume (VAV) systems.

Course Participants

This course is designed for building management personnels, managers and everyone interested in HVAC Controls. No prior knowledge of HVAC Direct Digital Control is required, though basic electrical and HVAC knowledge is desirable.

Course Presentation

A practical approach is taken throughout this course with participants gaining valuable hands-on experience on training equipment utilizing industry-standard components designed to simulate industrial systems. Comprehensive course notes with an extensive classroom presentations are provided.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, participants will be able to

• understand direct digital control (DDC) fundamentals
• understand the operations of a supervisory controller & other PLCs
• install and program a supervisory controller & other PLCs
• understand occupancy sensors and energy management
• understand and be able to use Human Machine Interface (HMI)
• Identify and install network sensors such as CO2 & smoke detectors, humidity & temperature controllers etc.
• understand alarms and trends and their importance
• identify the various systems controlled in HVAC
• understand single zone and muli-zone systems
• understand constant and variable air volume systems
• understand rooftop units and their controllers
