Subsea Engineering

Course

Subsea Equipment & Operations (Course 225)

About The Course

The end object are closely identical to those of the Subsea Systems but this course is designed to focus more on subsea drilling equipment (such as well head, marine risers & BOP) and subsea production equipment (such as manifolds, templates, control systems, flowlines, risers, etc.) and their applications, choice of equipment and equipment classifications

Course Participants

No prior subsea equipment knowledge is assumed. The structure and content of the course is aimed at those who wants to strat a career in subsea engineering or require a functional understanding of subsea equipment.

Course Presentation

The course is presented in an interactive form with scenario-based exercises, it uses variety of media to enhance learning including photos, graphics, animations, video, physical samples and question-and-answer sessions

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, participants will be able to

  • Understand the basics of drilling equipment, subsea wellhead systems, BOP etc.
  • Identify the various options available in subeas vs platform development
  • Identify the various options available in shallow and deepwater considerations and how they impact the choices we make
  • Identify the various options available in dry tree units vs wet tree options
  • Understand the classifications of offshore host facility/structures and the limits of each of the options
  • Identify and differentiate various subsea Xmas tree types
